MINI-CHURCHES AT FBCWR
Connecting with God and His people
What is a mini-church?
- Mini-churches are small groups of 8-16 people. The groups meet every other week at a member’s home. We have set up the groups for a commitment on a semester basis. The first semester runs from January to May and the second from September to December.
What is the goal of a mini-church?
- The goal is to grow in our relationship with God and His people.
How will a mini-church make a difference in my life?
- Get to know God better.
- Be challenged from God’s Word.
- Receive support for struggles.
- Make new friendships.
- Use your gifts and talents to help others.
What happens at the typical mini-church meeting?
- Sing and worship.
- Study lessons from God’s Word.
- Pray for each other.
- Enjoy each other’s company.
Where does the idea of mini-churches originate?
- Mini-churches are patterned after the practice of the first church; "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" (Acts 2:42). God also tells us in Romans 12:10 to "be devoted to one another in brotherly love". We show our devotion to God and other believers by investing extra time in those relationships. So devote yourself to a Mini-church.
I have children, is there a plan for kids?
- Each Mini-church arranges child care and includes the children in activities as much as possible.
